Community Creativity - The Local Volunteer

Well unsettling times call for creative composure - and so it was with The Prom Coast Festival committee plunging into the world of 'online' meetings in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Tucked up in our cosy homes across the district & beyond, each with a face on screen, we delighted in the new way of making our festival come to life. Gone were the glasses of wine and flat whites so delicately poured at Cafe Max, and in their spot, ho-hum dinners, pjs and the odd child coming in to wave hysterically at the screen with all the people on it.

So be it, and so it was, the brainstorming new elements to the festival, whilst refining some of the best parts of the 2019 festival continued. (...and whoa there were some good ideas!!!)

A change of date to coincide with the March long weekend (5th - 8th) was confirmed, so that we can join forces with the likes of the local markets and the International Women's Day celebrations. The change of date also allows our festival to grow organically from a three day event in 2019, to four days in 2021 - and this means more fun for punters!!!

Next meeting (fingers crossed will be back at Cafe Max!!) we will begin to refine the overall program, ready to give you a good taste of the offerings soon after!

Our team is a 100% volunteer group, with a mixed bag of experience and other 'day jobs'. The one thing we all have in common is a solid commitment to do our best in these interesting and, at times, difficult months ahead - bringing you, our wonderful community, a festival to be proud of.

Until next time, please stay safe, warm and connected.
